Security Plantation Shutters Offer Retail Advantage

The company, which was one of the original Crimsafe licensees, has developed its range of Security Plantation Shutters over the last 10 years with a retailer’s point of view, ensuring great aesthetics and quick and easy installation. Guardian has also wholesaled the security shutters up and down the east coast over that time and is now looking to expand that distribution network.

“The key point of difference between Guardian Smart Shutters and all other shutters on the market is security,” said Guardian Screens & Shutters Production Manager Blair Collins. “We have designed our plantation shutter to be completely lockable, whether they are hinged, bi-folding or sliding.”

“Our shutters serve a dual purpose as you get all the benefits of plantation shutters and a security screen all in one.” Blair said just like security screens the higher performing Smart Shutters can be fitted with flyscreens, which eliminates the need for security screens altogether.

“They have been tested against the Australian Standards for security, which indicates how strong they are.”

“They are 100% Australian made, predominantly built out of powder-coated aluminium with matching powder coated stainless steel hinges and lock componentry. They are stylish, robust and built to last.”

“As a retailer, Guardian Smart Shutters has given us an edge over other competitors in the market; we were able to offer clients a greater product that answered a lot of their needs - security, flyscreens, light and breeze control and adjustable privacy all in one.”

On the company’s wholesale expansion, Collins said that Guardian Screens & Shutters offers all new wholesale customers as much training as they require.

“The sales staff receive detailed design manuals where each of our product designs, whether they be hinged, bi-fold, are labelled by codes, which make it an easy system to follow.”

“Our quoting and ordering software comes with a stepby-step installation guide and any wholesalers or installers are welcome to come to our factory in Brisbane where they can receive on-site training on the installation of our products.”

“Servicing issues will need to be carried out by the retailer, but if it is an issue noted to be Guardian’s fault we will reimburse the service call fee and parts.”

“We provide a 10-year warranty on our shutter products and parts,” Collins added.

As the shutters are manufactured locally, the lead time from order to installation is two to three weeks and around four for custom work.

“After we receive orders an approximate estimated date of transit is sent to our wholesalers so they can tentatively book in their installations.”
